PRESS RELEASE (Nov. 13, 2023):  An international team of scientists is challenging global policymakers at COP28 to develop an expanded approach to climate change mitigation that includes climate cooling intervention. The authors issued a preprint of their paper, “Bad science and good intentions prevent effective climate action” on November 10th. Led by social systems researcher Graeme Taylor and physicist Peter Wadhams, the authors call on scientists, climate activists, and public policymakers to reject unrealistically optimistic assumptions and face the reality that 2015 Paris Agreement temperature targets will be missed with current climate mitigation strategies.
